Clam Beach is a typical RV park in the sense of a huge concrete parking lot with electric, water, and sewer at each site. The bonus is the RV Park is beach front!! The prices range from $50.00 beach front, $40 beach view, and $35 for interior with better pricing available for weekly and monthly rates. We found a nice interior spot that was close to the beach. There are showers and bathrooms available but with full hookups we used the facilities in the RV. There is central wifi that was unreliable but our neighbors gave us the password to their network.
After spending much time packing up and moving every few days we wanted to find a spot in Mexico and just slow down for a week or so. Clam Beach was a great place to hang out and get to know people. Many of the campers live in their RV full-time or keep their RV at Clam Beach are drive down from San Diego on the weekends. We immediately meet a family from San Diego and they had a couple on kids. Noah was happy for some kid time!!!
We really got to know many of the people staying here and had a great with our new friends. We were able to boogie board, explore tidal pools, build sandcastles, search for clams on the beach and surf fish. One of the long term residents even gave us two fishing poles to take along on our journey. We did encounter some wildfires that had the road closed. The smoke was so bad the we had to wear a buff around our mouths and a dive mask over our eyes. The community in the RV park really came together to assist each other as we watch the flames. We packed a bag with important documents and our cash but never felt like we were in harms way. Well a week turned into 10 days before we got on the road again but not before having some famous carne asada prepared by our new friend Manuel. Clam Beach was a great place to enjoy the beach and the company of a bunch of gringos!!!
