“a person who refuses to accept any standard short of perfection.”
Perfection. Certainly not something I have ever obtained, but yet I always seems to search for nonetheless. And most certainly the reason I’m four months into my blog and have yet to show it to the world…until now. Hello? Anyone out there? Wait! Just one more tweak, one more picture here or there and then it will be ready. But what if readers see it and aren’t interested? What if they see that a page isn’t perfect, or even worse, finished? They’ll know I’m a fraud with nothing truly important to say. Nothing will bring them back. It has to be perfect before I show it to the world or I’ll never succeed. Guess I had better just give up now.
“Perfectionism is not a quest for the best. It is a pursuit for the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us nothing we do will ever be good enough- that we should try again.”
So, how do we quit the endless search for perfectionism?
Did you actually think I had the answer? HA! Most likely you’re not even reading this as I am still tweaking it…so I went searching for answers for us all. Come on, let’s find the answers together.
Thanks to Wendy at The Gratefulist.com we might all have some hope of conquering our inner critic and I might actually publish this blog one day.
I know I plan to dig a little deeper into my addiction of perfectionism and my art of perfecting procrastination. And please, oh please, if you have encouraging words to share, I’d love to hear your comments.
We’re all in it Togethur! 🙂
