Quito: Named after Quito Rymer, a reggae singer we knew in Tortola, but spelled the same as Quito, Ecuador.
We’re not sure how Quito spent the first 6 months of his life, but he was found in an abandoned car in Craig, Colorado and after residing in the Craig pound for some time, was transferred to the Summit County Animal Shelter, a non-kill shelter, where we eventually met and adopted him.
Almost 14 years later, he is still going strong as a legit Colorado dog, living the best live any pooch could imagine. He has spent his life hiking, paddle boarding, cross country skiing, and basically going everywhere we go. Every dog should have Quito’s life.
At almost 14 year of age (that’s 98 in human years) he’s still hiking, skiing & chasing his tail like a puppy, and has now been allowed to sleep on the couch whenever he wants.
Quito’s Favorite things: Going anywhere we go, especially mom; sleeping under mom’s desk at the marina, chasing feet, hiking and barking at nothing every time he walks outside.
Quito’s Not-so-favorite Things: Being left alone anywhere and getting his hair brushed!
